Dennis was such a special person to me. Always kind, warm, willing to help. Never heard a cross word from him, or negative comments from him about anyone. I am sure he had his moments, but Bonnie probably is the one that dealt with those. Dennis was great in our field and everyone knows that. But to me, he was my friend. I am deeply saddened.

Dennis was a giant in the Planning and Urban Design profession. His designs and policy solutions were so direct and user friendly. There are many cities, towns, neighborhoods and transit hubs across Texas and the southwest that been blessed by his recommendations. But it was his personality that was just a treasure that so impressed all. He was the kindest most considerate person you could ever be around. He was a wonderful person - thank you Dennis for everything. God Bless -

This is a loss to the planning profession. Not only did Dennis' work influence communities across North America, he was a friend, colleague, mentor, and inspiration to untold numbers of planners and urban designers in the industry.

Very saddened by this news. This is a major loss for our profession, and especially the many, many planners that Dennis influenced. Dennis led the way in our state in looking at planning from both a design as well as an economic perspective. He was also very gentle but persistent in promoting his ideas, and just an absolutely wonderful person to work with. He is and should continue to be a role model for both current and future planners across our state.
